Troika is an atmospheric post-rock 3-piece from Christchurch, New Zealand, featuring Alan Kang (guitar/vocals), David Webber (bass/samples/vocals) and Dorian Lemonnier (drums/vocals). Their layered sound ranges from gentle, atmospheric passages to dynamic, intense walls of distortion and feedback.
They recently released their 4th album, "The Same Dream". The album features many familiar elements of Troika's oeuvre, and is strongly influenced by the likes of Sigur Ros, Smashing Pumpkins, Mark Lanegan and The Tea Party.
Recorded in the main in guitarist Alan's Lyttelton home, and mixed/mastered by bassist David Webber, the release is very much an organic continuation of the band's sonic exploration.
